Compulsory liability insurance in the Netherlands

As the owner of the vehicle, you are obliged to take out at least a liability insurance policy. However, it should be remembered that the price of protection depends on many factors – there is no fixed premium that applies to all car owners.

What should you know about the insurance check procedure at Polisa.nl?

• The discount certificate cannot be older than 12 months.
• The certificate must contain the details of the person who insures the vehicle.
• The interval between vehicle insurance in the Netherlands and in Poland or different countries cannot be longer than 36 months.
• Certificates from all previous insurance companies (not just the last one) must be provided.
• 5 years are deducted for each TPL claim and most AC claims.
• There are no co-owners of vehicles in the Netherlands.
• Accident-free years can only be used for one vehicle.
• If the discounts are accepted during the insurance check, the customer will receive a refund of the overpaid amount within 3 months.
• Claim-free years are only counted for car, motorcycle or scooter insurance. This does not apply to trailers and bicycles.
